Access to Cabinet documents

The report recommends that the Auditor‐General’s access to Cabinet documents be resolved legislatively, to ensure the Auditor‐General has the information access powers needed to fulfil their mandated responsibilities for public audit and reporting to the Parliament. 

Legislative amendments could also ensure that the Parliament decides on the matters of securing and disclosing the information accessed.
